Semi-permanent makeup
SPMU
Semi-permanent makeup puts pigment into the skin to give definition that survives swimming, the gym and getting caught in the rain.
Because it lasts, the design matters more than the technique. Nothing begins until the shape is mapped, discussed and agreed with you, and a patch test is done beforehand.
Who it suits
People who want to wake up with definition already there. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for some skin conditions.
Aftercare
- Follow the aftercare given to you exactly: healing is where the result is made or lost.
- Keep the area dry as instructed.
- Do not pick or scratch as it flakes.
- No saunas, swimming or sunbeds while healing.
- Expect the colour to look darker at first, then soften considerably.
Questions
How long does it last?
It varies a great deal depending on your skin and your lifestyle. It fades gradually rather than disappearing, and is refreshed periodically.
Why does it look so dark at first?
That is completely normal and part of healing. The colour softens substantially over the following weeks; please do not panic on day two.
Do I really need a patch test?
Yes, always, and at least 48 hours before. There are no exceptions to this.
